Funding success - Holbrook Landcare Network and the Slopes to Summit (S2S) partnership

Congratulations to Holbrook Landcare Network and the Slopes to Summit (S2S) partnership of the Great Eastern Ranges Initiative, who have just been awarded $499,875 for on-ground conservation works and community engagement activities over 6 years. 

The funding was announced yesterday by the NSW Minister for the Environment, Hon Mark Speakman MP, and is provided by the NSW Government's Environmental Trust as part of its 'Bush Connect in the GER'. The program has committed over $7.5 million to 16 projects, which will commence in January 2016. 

Better State Environments is proud to have assisted with Holbrook Landcare Network's funding submission.

This project aims to increase landscape connectivity for endangered box woodland species, such as Squirrel Glider and many woodland birds, in priority landscapes of the Holbrook region. Key activities will include fencing, revegetation, and installation of nest boxes constructed by Thurgoona Men's Shed. The project will also involve, in collaboration with Murray Local Land Services, a pilot program engaging the community in managing isolated Travelling Stock Reserves (TSRs) for positive biodiversity outcomes.

Ian Potter Foundation - Conservation & Environment Grants - Now Open

he Ian Potter Foundation has just opened another round of grants across a range of subject areas, including 'Conservation & Environment'. 

Expressions of Interest (EOI) are being sought until 11th December 2015. Note that if the amount requested exceeds $50,000 the proposal must first be discussed with Louise Arkles, Program Manager (Conservation & Environment).

2016 Impact Philanthropy - Now open

A great funding opportunity opened yesterday and runs until Friday 4th December. The 2016 Impact Philanthropy program is being run by Perpetual and applies to organisations with DGR status who are active in the environment/conservation field. Organisations can apply for one-off, 1 year grants up to $200,000. The average size of applications last year was $80,000. The success rate last year was around 17%. If you need support in submitting a competitive bid then Better State Environments can help.
